Remote services for fire panels

Bosch launches an IP-based solution for remote diagnostics and remote maintenance.

The company says that the new service increases the reliability of fire panels and maximises operational efficiency by enabling system integrators to monitor facilities remotely around the clock and to detect problems early so their clients benefit from quicker responses and less downtime.

Remote Services is a modular system with three components. Its foundation is formed by a secure internet connection between the system integrator and the client via Bosch security servers. Quick and easy to install, Remote Connect doesn’t require specialised IT expertise.

The system is configured remotely and is not limited to new fire panels but can also be integrated into existing Bosch systems. Via remote programming software, Remote Connect can carry out the programming and updates for the fire alarm panel independently of the location.

In addition Remote Connect enables a 24 h remote surveillance allowing quicker and more specific reactions in case of malfunctions. This can reduce travelling time and it can optimize the availability of service technicians.

Along with Remote Connect there are two additional components: Remote Maintenance and Remote Alert. Remote Maintenance collects and analyses real-time fire system data for predictive maintenance, detecting errors before they can cause downtime or damage. Remote Alert sends customised text messages and email alert notifications directly from the panel to the service team.

While Remote Connect for EN-54-certified fire panels has been available globally since July 2015, Remote Maintenance and Remote Alert will become available in late 2015 and early 2016, respectively.
