The new logo consists of an articulated ‘M’ that represents the ladders for which the company is famous. It also recalls elements of the historic Magirus-Deutz logo, which combined a stylized ‘M’ with the sharp spire of the cathedral in Ulm where the company has been located for some 150 years.
The new logo was designed by Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv in New York. According to Magirus, the simple design of the new logo represents what the company has stood for almost 150 years and what it still stands for today: ‘tradition, innovation, engineering and the will to let visions come true’.
Since 1975 the company has been owned by Italian manufacturer Iveco – the simplified ‘Magirus’ brand will encompass fire fighting vehicles and fire protection technology.
