Award-winning PPE to be on view at Fire Expo

Visitors to Fire and Rescue Expo in Birmingham (12-14 May) will be given the chance to find out for themselves exactly what made Cosalt’s technical rescue suit an industry award winner at the recent Company Clothing awards (Blue Light category) held at the Hilton Park Lane, London.
The leading PPE manufacturer will also be displaying at the Fire and Rescue Expo the structural fire kit which the Central Scottish Fire and Rescue recently purchased for eight of its brigades.
Cosalt’s Andy Hart said that visitors to the company’s stand would be able to inspect some of the industry’s most advanced garments close-up. “We are very excited about the items we will be bringing to the expo in May. We have made some huge leaps in recent times, and the award win and huge deal to supply to over 14,600 wearers in Scotland is testament to this.”
The technical rescue suit earned the hotly-contested Blue Light Award in recognition of the outstanding design and quality of the garment, which is designed for use in situations when traditional structural fire kit may hinder the performance of the wearer.
Wildland fires, technical rescue and RTCs are just some of the challenging situations where a lighter garment is required.
The rescue suit, meanwhile, is based on the original Cosalt “Gryphon design” and can be worn with or without a Crosstech waterproof liner and comes in one and two piece options.
With a durable outer FR shell the jacket and trouser combination is designed to offer maximum protection and ultimate ease of movement in all rescue situations. The whole garment conforms to EN469:2005 level 1 as well as EN531: A, B2, C1 with the liner and EN15614:2007 Wildland without.
